Fibromyalgia is usually thought of as a musculoskeletal condition.

It has, however been shown to have nothing to do with the muscles (even though it feels like it is due to muscular pain). It has been shown to be a condition of central nervous system sensitization – that is, facilitated transmission pf pain in the central nervous system due to neuro-inflammation.

Thus creating an increased sensitivity to pain.

Fibromyalgia – is it a mystery?

In this book Dr Russell Raath explains what fibromyalgia really is and gives tips on what you can do to even cure it or at least reduce its symptoms.

Dr Russell Raath shows that the pain and other symptoms of fibromyalgia
are like the smoke of a fire that is bothering you. You can try to get rid
of the smoke – the symptoms and pain of fibromyalgia, or you can put out the fire and the smoke will go away by itself.

Dr Russell Raath shows you what the fire is and how to put it out.

Many times, we have all heard: “Fibromyalgia does NOT exist”.

“Fibromyalgia is purely psychological – all in the head”

This is always said by someone who obviously has never had fibromyalgia themselves, or has never done any research or study to find out what it is.

I did.

It turns out that fibromyalgia does not exist – as a disease or sickness – ‘something you picked up somewhere”.

BUT it DOES exist as a state or condition your body finds itself in.

It is this state which by a variety of actions all result in a common pathway causing the classic state called Fibromyalgia.

This state can be reversed thus even curing fibromyalgia – and it’s not even difficult to do.

The cause of fibromyalgia is largely misunderstood but research suggests that the neuro-inflammation is caused by a “leaky gut” and abnormal microbiome (germs) in the gut.

The objective of the treatment of fibromyalgia is to lessen and control periods of pain. This can be achieved by treating and repairing the gut and the microbiome in the gut. Once this is repaired a patient can go into remission where they are pain free, or have greatly reduce pain, for periods of time. Possible causes of a leaky gut and fibromyalgia include genetic predisposition, previous acute stress, both emotional and physical, antibiotic overuse and others.

Symptoms:

  1. Flu like body aches (muscle pain)
  2. Cognitive disruptions like sleep disturbances and memory and mood disruptions (referred to as Fibro fog)
  3. Widespread pain, especially in muscle
  4. Stiffness in limbs
  5. Extreme sensitivity to heat and cold
  6. Skin sensitivity
  7. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  8. Headaches
  9. Fatigue
  10. “Brain Fog” – difficulty in thinking and thought processing.
